Where Management and Service Meet
The Service Manager is the person in charge of running the Service Department at a Konecranes Service Branch. This involves providing managerial support to the Service Supervisor, Inspection coordinator and the technician workforce, while regularly meeting with customers to establish and develop relationships.
A Service Manager balances the many internal tasks involved with being a manager, while remaining focused on customer service and sales. This position calls for someone with enthusiasm, a great work ethic and a “can-do” attitude. Technical expertise in the crane service industry is beneficial, as the Service Manager must consult with customers to recommend and explain the services needed for their cranes.
A Konecranes Service Manager is also an outside sales resource. As a primary contact for our customers, the Service Manager regularly meets with customers to sell repairs that correct deficiencies uncovered by our Inspectors during inspection/routine maintenance visits. They are also responsible for keeping customers up to date on the latest technologies available for their overhead systems so that they have maximum up time and operate in a safe and efficient manner.
