Hired Right out of School

When I graduated form University, I was looking for my first career opportunity. I found an opening for the Management Development Program (MDP) with Konecranes. The MDP program was attractive because it offered exposure to various parts of the business. So far, I’ve had the opportunity to work as a Contract Sales Rep, Service Technician, Technical Trainer, Business Development Manager, Technical Training Manager, and now I am a Curriculum Development Manager with Konecranes.

I started with the company as a 22-year-old college graduate who had never seen an overhead crane.  Konecranes has given me the opportunities and support I needed to advance my career that I would not have had at other “large” companies. Konecranes also fully supports continuing education by providing tuition reimbursement. Konecranes picked up the full bill for my MBA degree.

Committed to Teamwork and Training

I enjoy working with other Konecranes team members because of the camaraderie we share.  Konecranes team members are quick to help and are a great source of ideas. Working with a close-knit team is also a huge work motivator.
I have had received at least 40 hours of training per year since joining the team. Konecranes realizes the importance of having a well-trained and knowledgeable workforce. Konecranes’ dedication to training was evident during the 2009 Great Recession when they continued to spend money to train employees while other companies were cutting training budgets.

A Bright Future Ahead

The future is looking bright for both Konecranes and me. The new technology investments will make Konecranes a more agile company and the preferred choice of customers. As our company grows, opportunities for personal growth with our company increase, too. Upward mobility is the best reason to start a career with Konecranes.
